Al-Qalam
The PenRevealed in the earliest Makkan period, soon after al-ʿAlaq, as the leaders of Quraysh began to dismiss the Prophet ﷺ as a madman. God answers by swearing an oath by the pen and declaring that His Messenger stands upon a magnificent character.
Al-Muzzammil
The Enshrouded OneAmong the earliest Makkan revelations, addressed to the Prophet ﷺ as he lay wrapped in his cloak. It called him to rise in the depth of the night, to steep himself in the Qurʾān, and to prepare for the weight of the message he was about to carry.
Al-ʿAlaq
The ClotRevealed in the Cave of Ḥirāʾ on the Mountain of Light (Jabal al-Nūr) near Makkah, before the Prophet ﷺ was commanded to proclaim the message publicly. This was the moment the unseen world broke into human history and the final prophethood began.
